I REMEMBER YOU

Each time I sit down to write,
I remember you,
Because my words are for you,
My every poem is dedicated to you,

Each time I walk on a road,
I remember you,
Because you never let me walk alone as long you were here,
Walked with me, holding my hand,
You, the ever-protective, love of my life,
(When we used to walk together, you didn’t notice
That I always tried to you match your steps)

Each time I cry,
I remember you,
You tried your best to make me smile
And when nothing worked,
You had tears in your eyes,
Feeling my pain,

Every time I see anyone laughing,
I remember you,
Because your laughter always filled me with amazing delight,
And thinking of your laughter,
I smile without any reason, by myself…

Every time I have food,
I remember you,
You fed me each day,
After glancing around to see if anyone saw you,
(My scary cat)

And every time I listen to your favourite song,
I remember you,
The way you always danced on it,
Your funny steps – to make me smile,

Now, I am wordless when I sit down to write,
Walk back home without continuing my evening walks
I cry more without you,
As there is no reason to smile
I leave food, unable to eat
And often listen to your favourite song
Longing to be with you evermore as each day passes by,

And thus, each time I remember you,
I have tears in my eyes…
